We’ve been checking for Hunters for a while now. The dynamic indie duo drops a new single, “Street Trash” that is bound to raise some eyebrows. While pop music is littered with bands that are super polished and ready-wrapped for public consumption, Hunters’ charm derives from their gully, faux amateur feel; you can occasionally hear vocal and instrumental hiccups, but they add character like knots in hardwood floors.
The overall sound of “Street Trash” is murky and dark but hard charging like a Houston Street dive bar at 2 A.M. The duo pass the mic and follow each other with the chemistry of EPMD amid the swirling tumult of ugly guitars and hard kickdrums. It’s a beautifully imperfect number that will have you snapping your neck con much gusto. “Street Trash.” Get dirty with Hunters.
