The Ballistic Shell Gel (SG) Series

By Odeisel

I finally abandoned the Blackberry ship and moved to the next phase on the evolutionary chain and got myself a Samsung Galaxy 3 and all its Android excellence. They made offers to get a case for protection (and you need it when replacing these things could cost over $700) but I declined because I review these things for the Planet and I didn’t want to pay for one. Of course that meant walking around like a new neaga, as the Jamaican people say, with the plastic slip still on the phone, complete with Sprint advertising and Samsung logo in white on the front of the phone, obscuring the screen. Thank heavens for Ballistic, who sent me the BALLISTIC SHELL GEL (SG) SERIES CASE.

The Ballistic Shell Gel (SG) Series features three layers of protection for the grown and clumsy. Ancillary features include a smooth but no-slip grip, reinforced corners (each with the Ballistic tag), and a tough, durable polycarbonate shell that provides impact protection. The rubbery face surface ensures stability if you leave your phone face down and the raised front ensures that your screen never touches whatever surface you leave your phone on.

  • Layer 1 – Ballistic shock absorbent polymer
  • Layer 2 – Tough  impact resistant polycarbonate shell
  • Layer 3 – Soft silicone equipped with reinforced Ballistic Corners™
  • Includes lay-on-table feature – screen will not touch the surface when laid flat on a table
  • No-slip stability when laid face down

When you’re at home, work or on the go, it’s very easy to turn sharp when charging or drop your phone going for your pocket or having it fall off the bed (all of which has happened in the last two weeks). When your phone drops, you listen for that CRACK. All I heard was a rubbery dud and back to normal. The case doens’t add much bulk to what is already a large phone but it does add some good weight to what some complain is too light or doens’t feel substantial

The Ballistic Shell Gel (SG) Series retails for $34.99 and you can get it HERE…or at mall kiosks across America as you schlep through the holiday savage crowd with your baby mama, kids, significant other, etc.

***NOTE there is no actual screen protector on the Ballistic Shell Gel (SG) Series so if that’s your thing, this particular model isn’t for you***
