Rick Ross: I Love My Bitches (Prod. By Just Blaze)

By Odeisel

Keep it funky. You were getting tired of the Rick Ross/Lex Luger tracks, weren’t you? Tired of those escalating noises and the half bar lay-outs that have become commonplace since Ross felt he was both Big Meech AND Larry Hoover. Well this ain’t that and Just Blaze has given the Bauce some definitive bump on “I Love My Bitches.”

The wailing banshees (high speed vocal samples) that open the track give that setup like Mariano before Wetland and that familiar “Just Blaaaaze” gets you hyped for the track before you even hear a bar. These days song intros are long winded but masters like Blaze know exactly how to make you wait. Then the bottom comes in and the slow sizzle rhtym, combined with the mingling of those sped up vocals make the track a model of efficiency; it bangs without all that extra shit that producers think makes them sound good.

What is there to say about Ross? He churns out so much music and just when you settle on him doing the same stuff all over again, he switches up the game. He employs alliterative device for the first verse, attaching the word bitch to trappings of opulence beginning with the letter “b.” Sesame street would be proud…if you would ever expose. Babies to bricks benzes and bitches that is.

Just Blaze back like Pac, Bauce ready to rock and a whole lot of “b” on “I Love My Bitches.” Better believe it.
