By DJ Fusion

What’s good Planet Ill crew!

It’s time again after a bit of a hiatus for your regular weekly Indiesent Exposure installment of FREE quality music downloads and info about independent music artists of different genres who deserve serious credit for keeping things lively and original in the world of music.

Post by post, Indiesent Exposure is set to give your ears some respite from some of the daily audio wackness that bombards the masses through the mainstream radio’s and TV airwaves’ definitions of Hip-Hop, Rock, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, House, World Music and more.

If you like what you hear and download in this section, PLEASE support (monetarily and otherwise) these artists as much as you can in the future – hit up their websites, purchase some product, go to their shows, etc.

This week’s group of great Indiesent Exposure audio selections features joints with Hip-Hop, R&B, Electronica, Dubstep, Metal and Afro-Punk flavors.

Whenever you have the chance, please let all of the talented Indiesent Exposure artists and the Planet Ill crew know what you think of the music in our comments section!

Here we go:

First off, we have the latest annual Hip-Hop compilation from the SMKA music collective.

For the past 3 years, this Atlanta, GA based crew of producers, musicians, studio engineers and business people have been dropping dope music collections that unite independent and mainstream artists (including Freddie Gibbs, 4-Ize, Aleon Craft, Tony Williams, Donny Goines, XO of Diamond District and more) over original, inspired production.
Whether you prefer more traditional Boom Bap sounds, electro-based grooves or 808 bounce vibes, people should find enough fly tracks on the 19 track SMKA – The 808 Experiment: Vol 3 release from producer 808 Blake to enjoy. Check out more of the latest happenings with the SMKA crew over at their official website, http://www.TheSMKAExperience.com .

Next up we have the Retribution For The Afflicted LP album from the New York City Afro-Punk band, A Broken Code.

Members Mansa, Nate, Jenko and Sansa, make music that can best be described as Hip-Hop Metal – an organic combination of rhymes floating effortlessly off of chunky Hard Rock guitar & bass chords & driving breakbeats similar to Rage Against the Machine, with an intensity sorely needed in the Rap Rock hyrbid space.
Having joints ready for either stage diving or hard head nodding with conscious/message based lyrics that don’t get too preachy, the crew should hopefully be on the scene for a long time. Find out about the latest music, shows, videos and more from A Broken Code’s official website, http://www.ABrokenCode.com.

Lastly, here’s a head-nodding, dancefloor-ready collection of solid mid- to-high-tempo eclectic tunes (including Electronica, Hip-Hop, Soul, Dubstep, Jazz and more influenced joints) ready to rock out to as a part of your new weekly soundtrack.
The creation of the 20 track Project Mooncircle Presents STROKE.MUSIC compilation is pretty interesting…here’s a description of what went down from their own words:
The STROKE.ARTFAIR is the world’s first art fair with a main focus on all developements concerning the worldwide movement of the so called Urban Art. The fair was planned as a wandering-concept to justice the demands of this international art movement.

The STROKE.ARTFAIR took already place twice in Munich (October ’09 and Mai ’10) and once in Berlin (October ’10).

The next issue of the fair – STROKE.ARTFAIR – will take place once again in Munich (may 26 – 29). Additional shows will be presented throughout Germany next year.
The STROKE.ARTFAIR and PROJECT: MOONCIRCLE – founded in 2002 and presently one of the most creative german Music-labels – have teamed up to present STROKE.MUSIC, their first joint cooperation; a “soundtrack to art”.

The Berlin based label, with its unconventional and genre-crossing mixture between Hip Hop, Electronica, Downbeat, Soul, and Dubstep, and the first worldwide Urban Art Fair share a great set of ideals and, therefore, promise to be the perfect partners for STROKE.MUSIC.

To bring STROKE.MUSIC into being, the artists of the STROKE.ARTFAIR galleries were asked to choose their personal favorite song out of the vast musical label-archive and use it as inspiration to create a new piece of art.

The results of this venture will be presented in Munich during the STROKE.ARTFAIR in a special exhibition.

Every interested visitor will be able to listen to the music while looking at the art in order to blend the impressions into a complete audio-visual experience.
