I missed last week, but it’s a new dawn and a new daaaaaaay (word to J-Hud.) According to this week in freestyles, we are bringing everyone back from Biggie to Left Eye to some folks I didn’t even know were gone. The Meek Mill song has inspired plenty of rip offs (some good, some not so much) and the artists below have taken creative arrogance to new heights as they suggest filling the shoes of Hip-Hop’s dearly departed is a job they can handle.
Before we get to that though, please note that there are some among us who believe that Tupac didn’t really leave. He’s in Cuba or some other far flung spot waiting to return in 2014. Why 2014? Hell if I know, just watch.

Alrighty then, back to business. Who are we resurrecting first? Let’s start with Big Pun courtesy of Joell Ortiz. Yaowa!
Joell Ortiz – Big Pun Back Freestyle
The new Christopher Rios of rap? Why not? Ortiz is dope. Even in the Shady den, he regularly stands head and shoulders above the other lions. There are nods to “Twinz” and “Still Not a Player” but this is still all Joell. Nice
Maino – Biggie Is Back Freestyle
Moving on we have Maino who knew a Notorious BIG tribute over this track was inevitable. The only question was who would get it in the can first. In his haste to push it out he threw an “is” in there, but when you remix the remix before they think about the remix, little issues are bound to pop up.
Audra The Rapper – Left Eye Back
Next up is Audra the Rapper who decided to channel Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez. This is around the time the remixes start to become old hat and the eye brows start a-raising. I can’t recall her saying anything about Left Eye in this song, but she did say “I’m Andre.” And I think I heard the Nicki Minaj voice waiver in there. You don’t have to bring her back. She’s already here.
After this, we have some folks that I’ve never been introduced to. I’m not calling them unknowns or amateurs. I’m just saying they have been flying under my radar. (I know how sensitive you rap folks can get.) So you want to revivify some more people? Let’s start with Big L. He’s back too.

Not done yet. I don’t know this Anthrax, but I do know that Anthrax. This Anthrax wants to bring back Albee Al. Who is Albee Al? Don’t know. Where did he go? I don’t know that either, but according to the pictures, I’ll say it’s the pokey. Maybe a free Albee Al song would have been more appropriate.

Last but not least, P. Streets wants to bring back Earl Sweatshirt. Okay. I’ll take another wild guess and say Earl just wants to be left alone wherever it is he is, but P. Streets has other things in mind, including flucking tomatoes.

all of them kilt the remixes…
but that Audra The Rapper chick did mention Left Eye like 3 times..that shows you werent listening.. she kilt it too…
and she the only female to do it
I’m aware she said her name, but did she say anything about her? All the songs are evocative little walks down memory lane, but there was no real mention of anything that would remind you of Lisa. At least not that i heard.
