Sha Stimuli is a Hip-Hop survivor. He appeared on Masta Ace’s classic Slaughtahouse album under the name Kid Dynamite when he was just 14. Through his many travels, he pursued his hoop dreams as a 6’3” guard and eventually settled on the music, interning at Rocafella Records.

As the years went on he began to devote himself to the mic, dropping mixtape after mixtape, leading him to a record contract with Virgin Records. A misunderstanding between Virgin and the Jigga-helmed Def jam in 2007 and Stimuli was left without a deal and wondering what the hell was next. Bloody, but unbowed, he kept his nose to the grindstone, releasing a mixtape a month throughout 2008. He finally got his debut in 2009 with the semi-autobiographical My Soul To Keep.

A year and change later, Sha is still in the game, making relevant high-quality music. We caught up with him recently to talk about his life in rhyme. Here’s part 1.
