Demon-Buster Dem Daniels Daps Slavery

By shelz.

Kimberly Daniels used to be a prostitute.  She was also a drug dealer.  Since those days, she has joined the military, left the military and become a minister.  Her latest goal is to be elected to the Jacksonville City Council.  Impressive, no?

It is.  I have never sunk so low or lifted myself so high. From that bit of information, Daniels reads like the ambassador of pulling-yourself-up-by-your-boot-straps-ville.  If she accomplished so much, maybe its because she’s avoided demons by not buying candy.

Yes, you know there was a monkey wrench to be thrown into this story of perseverance.  Since establishing her own church, Daniels has advised that Halloween candy is filled with not just sugar, but demons too. She also believes that “The View” is produced by antichrist spirits, that her “demon-busting” services can cure witches of their witchiness and that slavery wasn’t all that horrible because all’s well that ends well. Just take a look.

Ms. Daniels was probably attempting to communicate that she loves her Lord and believes the introduction of Christianity to African culture was a good thing. What she really insinuates is that over 400 years of kidnapping, captivity, torture, rape and murder was worth her being able to praise Jesus on this continent.  At least she didn’t thank the slave masters for ultimately allowing her to buy ice and get tatted up.  You can’t tell me you didn’t have a Soulja Boy Tellem flashback.

What’s makes the comment even more laughable is that the two most common religions on the continent of Africa are Islam and … drum roll… Christianity.  And I have yet to find a motherland sect that has replaced the holy trinity with plants, shrubs and bushes.

That “Jews own everything” statement had me bugging though.  Like word?  So I immediately checked the title to my car, the deed to my house and even Planet Ill’s staff page.  And guess what, Jewish people don’t own any of that shit.  I think she’s wrong on count two as well.

Ms. Daniels says the video is edited and the comments were taken out of context.  That is obviously true, but as of post time I can’t come up with one acceptable context in which to claim slavery was a good thing.  Not one.

This is what I think.  I think that’s there are certain jacked ideas that we all carry around like those five pounds we’ve been meaning to shed.  They aren’t going anywhere no matter how hard we try to be all politically correct.  However, in politics, as with any other job, you have to figure out how to leave that dumb stuff at home and co-exist cordially with all the dumb people that you  work with and for.  I can accept that Ms. Smith is entitled to these beliefs.  What I can’t accept is someone who can’t keep it at the dining room table because they might make decisions for me.

This isn’t just for her.  She’s far from the only nincompoop running for office.  The Republican Party’s pool of Presidential Candidates is full of them.  Hell, the tea party practices nincompoopism as their main political doctrine. Back handed racist rhetoric is handed down from folks in the political spotlight, as they use the other hand to push this post racial America nonsense (Ms. Daniels should have never been called a nigger.) In that environment,  a black political candidate big upping slave masters is unacceptable. It’s akin to a thumb in the eye of Civil Rights Movements everywhere; even the one that assured her access as a black woman to run for public office in this country.

In conclusion class, this video demonstrates the dire need for all of us to vote on the local level.  If you aren’t paying attention to anything but the Presidential Election, these are the kind of people who end up getting elected and making decisions for you and your community. Jacksonville better come out to the polls, or Halloween candy might end up on the chopping block with the witches.
