Adidas held their adiHOOP 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Santa Monica, Ca at the 3rd Street Promenade. Adidas repurposed the former Pottery Barn store into an indoor half-court basketball gym with bleachers on both sides of the wall, courtside seats and upper level for people to watch the game below. Across from the bleachers were the MCs (Big Boy, DMC, and “The Hangover” Ken Jeong) for the event and the house DJ (Neil Armstrong). On the back wall was a purple and yellow graffiti mural representative of the hometown Lakers. Performers included Duck Down Records group Kidz In The Hall.
There were twelve teams competing, representing different brands under their teams name like Skullcandy, Girl Skate, Undftd, Proper, the Hundreds, Sole Collector Magazine, Bagavagabonds, HVW8 Art, and Sheikh; all dressed in adidas gear (the official brand for NBA All Star Weekend). The team that everyone came to see was the West Coasters, featuring the legendary Long Beach emcee Snoop Dogg, The Game, Chris Brown, Perry and new comer YG. They were coached by Matt Barnes from the Los Angeles Lakers for the tournament. 
The West Coasters came out rocking Snoop Dogg’s new adidas shoe, the adiPure. As they continued to walk on the court amid screams and bright flashes from the cameras, the sneakers radiated with reflective elementss. With the coaching of Barnes, The West Coasters were able to win the first game with a game-winning shot by the D O double G.
The highlight of the tournament came when the West Coasters unleashed their secret weapon: Chris Brown! With Brown on the other side of Game and Snoop in the middle, victory was secured in a down to the wire championship game on a Chris Brown lay-up.
The West Side was properly represented, a victory was secured, and adidas set the stage for what would be an eventful All-Star Saturday. Below is some vid from Chris Brown’s arrival some flicks from the action, and of course, the new Snoop Dogg adiPures. Peace.
