What’s up to all of the Planet Ill crew!
Indiesent Exposure is designed to give your ears some respite from the daily audio wackness, that bombards the masses through mainstream radio’s definitions of Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, House, World Music, etc.
If you like what you hear & download here, PLEASE support (monetarily and otherwise) these artists as much as you can in the future – hit up their websites, purchase some product, go to their shows, etc.
This week’s Indiesent Exposure selections consist of some on point Hip-Hop and Rock Music grooves to add to your music collection.
Whenever you have the chance, please let all of the talented Indiesent Exposure artists and the Planet Ill crew know what you think of the music in our comments section!
Let’s get it in – download, sit back, relax & hope you enjoy the grooves:
Brooklyn, New York’s Joell Ortiz has gone on an almost Dante-esque journey through Hip-Hop Circles Of Hell, through both major and indepenent label album pushbacks/delays, crazy contracts and other personal challenges.
Throughout all of those tribulations however, he’s maintained one of the few rounds of well-deseved accolades as being not only an engaging lyricist on the mic, but also one of the few in that category who isn’t just strictly regulated to the “battle rap” category, can write solid songs and has an ear for production that matches his talent.
Having worked with everyone in the business in the past decade from KRS-One & Big Daddy Kane to Dr. Dre & Rass Kass as well as the indie Hip-Hop supergroup Slaughterhouse, Joell Ortiz’s star has been slowly but steadily on the rise.
Now currently under the SRC label, he’s dropped a free 6 song project to keep heads nodding with the Farewell Summer EP.
Find out more about what’s happening in the always active world of Joell Ortiz’s music, events, artistic happenings and other cool whatnot at his official site, http://www.JoellOrtiz.com.
