There aren’t may groups that have legs. Good ones rock for a few and then they are through. The great ones can rock out to at least four, and even then, the wheels begin to fall off and a few years later it’s on to the revival tours.

But then there are those rare groups, that not only push boundaries musically but either inspire or force others to raise their musical level; either for adulation or competition. A Tribe Called Quest is one of those rare groups that not only push those musical boundaries, but whose family tree of artists is lifted close to those lofty levels through inspiration.
