What happened to DTP?  It sounded like a good idea.  If you track back far enough, there was a time when Chingy outsold Luda.  So it’s not like Mr. Cris surrounded himself with folks he knew were destined to fall off the side of the earth.   We’ve seen very little from Shawna, well except this and we’ve seen even less of Shareefa and Bobby Valentino.  Every once in a while I-20 pops up, but it’s usually to less than spectacular fan fare.

It’s a rough business, I know.  And being a pet project of some superstar normally doesn’t bode well for the protégé.  Some folks keep trying though and I-20 has tossed his hat back in the rap ring with “Ridin’ Around” which is quite possibly what he’s been doing with his time recently considering Blood In The Water has been shelved since 2008.

I-20 tackles, you know, what plenty of rappers normally tackle; driving around high with weed in the car and expensive chains around his neck.  He makes the hotties swoon and they want to give up the skins on site.  Must be nice to be him.

The quivering synth line, with the slooooooowed down Texas style hook, date this track.  So even though the song may have been new when DJ Bobby Black got his hands on it, I’m pretty sure it isn’t now. We even get a Master P “Uuuhhhhh” out of 20. Luda closes this down with a less than inspired verse, but I guess that’s why this sat untouched for so long.  Oh well. Old Luda is better than no Luda at all.  I think.

I-20 is “Ridin’ Around” instead of making music. It could be worse.  He could be this guy.  Enjoy.
