Recently, Planet Ill was invited to the Mega Growth’s Poolside Beauty Chat in Los Angeles, at the exclusive Beverly Hills hotel, The Sofitel. Mega Growth Los Angeles’ beauty correspondent, Nyvia Weathersby collaborated with Ebony Magazine to bring together beauty bloggers and journalists to celebrate the relaunch of Mega Growth’s hair products, to speak about the beauty of manageable, healthy hair and how women gain confidence when they look and feel good.
I had a chance to chat candidly with the Global Marketing Director of Mega Growth, Charlene Bastien-Dance, about the importance of knowing your actual hair type,(there are 4 different curl patterns each with 3 various categories based on curl type and hair texture), breaking the negative fellings towards “relaxers” and learning more about Mega Growth hair products. (I did an at-home testing with the Mega Growth hair products that were in my fancy beach swag bag).
Charlene illustrated how to find my actual hair type and how to maintain it. I had no idea maintaining hair was this complicated, to be honest. Here’s a link from the Black Girl Long Hair website that teaches you all about curl patterns and hair textures.
We talked about the negative feelings toward perms ( A method of setting the hair in waves or curls and then treating it with chemicals so that the style lasts for several months.) and how Mega Growth’s relaxers have a creamy application with conditioner that strengthens the hair and helps retain the desired style.
After I left the luxurious Sofitel with my Mega Growth beach swag bag, I decided to try the products out on my own hair. I would say that their shampoo and conditioner products left my hair feeling very clean, and with an amazing mango smell. I would suggest anyone who is looking for a product that promotes healthy hair to give Mega Growth hair products a chance.
