Padpivot Turns Your Tablet To A Desktop…Almost

By Odeisel

From the desktop to laptop to tablet to smartphone, our personal computing is ever-shrinking. With that comes a totally different set of ergonomic issues, particularly when you do away with physical keyboards and go for the touchscreen espoused by the tablets and the smart phones. How many different ways do you have to hold your device to get comfortable creating docs or doing whatever your task demands?

There are an inordinate amount of peripherals that attach themselves to walls or tables and help you in finding a comfortable position to work your magic. Padpivot steps to the plate with a very smart design that takes up minimal space, is ultra-portable, and can handle both smart phone size and any tablet size.

Padpivot has an arch like shape that can comfortably fit the curve of you knee where you can attach your phone or tablet to a nano suction pad that holds the phone/tablet in place and frees both hands to type on the surface of the instrument. Conversely, the Padpivot fits on a flat surface and you can stabilize larger tablets in the groove and lean them against the edge of the nano suction slab. Confused? We have a video that will show you how to do it, son.

I tested the Padpivot and it was actually as advertised. You can screw the suction pad off very easily, fold the unit in half and put it in your pocket. It takes up the space of a wallet. It fit perfectly on my knee although I had to remove the strap because my leg is too big, but the PadPivot was still stable enough for a Galaxy III. Admittedly, after the first few times, the hold of the suction pad was not as firm as the initial attempt but still enough to hold a phone. I used the suction pad on an HP Touch which is fairly heavy for a tablet and pretty big and it held firm upside down. A hard jiggle and it came unloosed so…don’t hold it upside down trying to be cute. Conventional use only. Otherwise the Padpivot performed as promised.

The Padpivot can be bought here for the price of $39.99.
