“Real journalism is publishing something someone else does not want published – the rest is just public relations.” George Orwell
With so much drama in the world today in our communities on both macro and micro levels, it’s always strange to see the news or people who claim to be journalists talking about all kinds of silly things and never what’s going on. The Firing Squad is here to take aim at all that is wrong with the world, starting with our own communities. Three men of color with no censor and no objectives but truth, justice and common sense. Each episode will deal with hot-button issues with honesty, straight talk, and humor whenever possible . No personality is untouchable, and no one is spared the venom, or the praise whenever fit.
This week, the crew dealt with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the post Halloween action. We look at the people who hated Obama’s “Socialism” loving those FEMA checks. Do we feels sorry for the people who were told to evacuate but stayed anyway? We look at Bloomberg’s late in the game endorsement of Obama and his foolish attempt to try the NY marathon in the face of Staten Island’s suffering.
We look at the Coney Island savages as one of the few areas where there were reports of looting in the midst of the disaster. Radio Shack robbing with no electricity? The Warriors are turning over in their graves. Dressing up as federal agents and robbing people? Shameless. How does their behavior compare with the Katrina victims who were generally looked upon as savages? Did Sandy show exactly how important the MTA is?
With all of these calamities, is it time to invest in firearms? Is it time to protect your fam with the righteousness of the hammer?
How do we feel about Kevin Garnett giving Ray Allen the cold shoulder during the first game of the season? Should the Lakers be worried this early in the season?
We did the show under the influence in honor of IPOPPEDOFF’s birthday. Due to power outtage from Sandy, the show was cut short but we packed a punch in that time.
