Oddisee, rapper of Sudanese heritage and DMV pedigree has been growign as an artist by leaps and bounds. As it stands he’s arguably the best producer/MC active in the world of Hip-Hop (Yeezy gets a lot of help with them bars), and he stands at the head of the other MMG (Mello Music Group), a team more enamored of the struggle in the streets rather than the glorification of them.
Planet Ill and yours truly have been trying to catch up with the homie for an interview, but travel schedules, migration and various other factors kept getting in the way. By the grace fo the Most High, we caught up with him on our rampage through this year’s A3C festival in Atlanta. It was after midnight, between shows and the crew would eventually end up blocked into a parking space way past our bedtime.
We talked about music, the grind, his recently released album, People Hear What They See and some real cool stuff. If you aren’t hip to Oddisee, here is a great chance to get hip. If you are, hopefully you’ll catch something about him that you didn’t know before. Either way, he fucking rocks. Go cop that album. Enjoy.
