This week, The Chicago Edition focuses on Chicago’s storied Hip -Hop past with Mr. David Stephens, curator of the Facebook page Chicago Hip-Hop Archive and Ms. Therese Ferguson, Director and Founder of the 2nd Scene Culture City Project. Chicago Hip-Hop extends beyond Common, Kanye and Lupe. There is a very rich history that involves many more artists and localities and associations. Ferguson and Stephens are attempting to build a living online archive of Hip-Hop in Chicago by collecting flyers, photos, tapes and various artifacts to illustrate Chicago’s Hip-Hop story.
This journey isn’t just a two man show. It’s a living breathing cultural movement that invites anyone that can contribute to put it down for the Chi-City. Have a piece of Chicago Hip Hop History? Share it with 2nd Scene by submitting via email: 2ndscene.culturecityproject@gmail.com
