“Real journalism is publishing something someone else does not want published – the rest is just public relations.” George Orwell
With so much drama in the world today in our communities on both macro and micro levels, it’s always strange to see the news or people that claim to be journalists talking about all kinds of silly things and never what’s going on. The Firing Squad is here to take aim at all that is wrong with the world, starting with our own communities. Three men of color with no censor and no objectives but truth, justice and common sense. Each episode will deal with hot-button issues with honesty, straight talk, and humor whenever possible . No personality is untouchable, and no one is spared the venom, or the praise whenever fit.
This episode, we take an early look at Nas’ brilliant album Life Is Good. We at least 2 of us think it’s brilliant. From there we take a look at the Penn State report and the evidence that Joe Paterno did, in fact contribute to the cover up, forever tarnishing whatever was left of his broken legacy.
Meek Mill took a shot from the pulpit, as Philadelphia pastor Jomo Johnson (hahahahha) spoke out against his hit song”Amen” featuring Drake. Aparently “chuuuurch” and “preaaaach” were not what’s up with the man of the cloth. Maybe if he bought homie a boat or a house with a moat he’d be aight. Ah well.
Mitt Romney spoke to the NAACP and got booed. Was the media only telling half of the story? Do we give a rat’s ass about Mitt Romney anyway? Should the Negroe vote be for sale?
