We did it Brooklyn, we did it. Those words, voiced by Biggie Smalls at his Source Awards coming out party and remind us that when you’re from Brooklyn, no matter where you are, you will always be in the house. Skyzoo and Maffew Ragazino Sr. both have ties to the borough and they are both in full effect on this track “BK Accent.”

The video is cool (anything shot in a fisheye lens is bound to be cool) as both crawl the concrete jungle pseudo stalking a hottie that of course loves that Brooklyn accent. It must be a girl thing because the whole chicken head pronouncing the letter “r” as the letter “v” (sehveus = serious L) is the worst shit ever but I digress. No helicopter chases, no thugging, no Times Square, no club shots, no product placement. Just a couple of slick spitting BK emcees getting down…and stalking a chick. Production is mean on this one.

Lyrics galore with a few verses from underground surprise Maffew Ragazino and a swagger rich offering from Skyzoo. No trying to outdo each other throwing off the balance of the song a la Slaughterhouse, just crisp rhymes and a strong visual that’s related to the song. The world isn’t ready for this dynamic duo. Fortunately for you guys, Planet Ill is out of this world. We been rocking with both of them for a minute. Here’s your chance to get familiar with that “BK Accent.”
