Remember when Murda In.c was a machine and they had a bunch of hits? When Ashanti, good looking but not gorgeous, can carry a tune but not really that talented, had more hits than Jen Griffey Jr.? Those days are getting further and further in the rearview and Ja RUle is living it up in “amazing” jail right now, but 2/3 of the Inc triumverate is back with some help from the Maybach for the track “No One Greater.”
It’s nice to see Irv behind the boards again and not yapping and tough guy talking. If not for his penchant for getting involved with criminals, he’d probably be running Def Jam now, but I digress.
Everythign here is standard faire, from the beat to the verses to Ashanti’s pedestrian singing, but somehow it’s better than the sum of its parts. It’s good to see Ashanti, who has never to my knowledge been guilty of any dumb celebrity shit or meanness. We’ve seen peopel way less talented than her be successful. Check it out. I odn’t know about the title, but it’s cool
