The following was a slew of tweets released by the Twitter account of Havoc, one half of the legendary hardcore Hip-Hop group, Mobb Deep. The tweets contained venomous shots at partner-in-rhyme, Prodigy. They set the media and the blogosphere on fire with allegations that Prodigy was alternative rock. Peep.

@prodigymobbdeep we got a meeting, lets see if u built to show ur face. prodigy abitch and I’m gonna show it, follow!! ground breaking new. i got niggas in the jail system to to back up that prodigy was fucking homes in jail. prodigy prove me wrong! please. i have a big announcement…. and niggas that was locked wit him know the truth. now i will silence…. and let the jails take care of the rest. thats on everything, i had to smack P ask him. prodigy u pussy! u long island ass bitch. I’m about to expose u! i can’t wait till niggas in jail that was wit u back my shit up!! next time i see u , u getting layer out, on camera!! i can’t wait! how u say u live in jersey, but right there in queens??? These tweets shook the entire Hip-Hop world when they ran yesterday. Is Mobb Deep over? Is one of the illest Rap duos breaking up? Usually when groups break up, it is because of money disagreements or jealousy, but Havoc (or someone pretending to be Havoc) was alleging that Prodigy was a homosexual and was active during his time in jail. The news was so shocking that many cried foul and Havoc claims, in fact that his phone was stolen when he released this statement following a day later:

Just getting back into NY after my Easter weekend with family and friends in Jersey. I left my phone at a gas station yesterday evening while on my way to Jersey after a glorious Knicks game. To all Mobb Deep fans: it’s business as usual! It’s Mobb Deep all day!!! My twitter account @THEREALHAVOC will be down until further notice. The only other real account is @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP. Ignore the rest. One!

Sounds good enough, except you can’t fool the internet, which noted that the tweets were sent via web not mobile, so there is a question concerning the validity of that statement.Power 105’s The Breakfast Club delved a little deeper into the issue and released audio of Havoc going in on his partner-in-rhyme and Noreaga was on hand to verify the validity of the audio. Havoc immediately called into The Breakfast Club and denied the allegations. He sounded a little flustered and kind of suspect. You be the judge.

Do you think Havoc went off and aired out Capital P and now he’s retracting his statements or was his phone really stolen and the tweets and audio fraudulent? He said “business as usual” so maybe he just trying to stick out to fulfill a contract obligation, but let us know what you think.
