I have no faith in this summer’s fashion prospects.  It appears everyone is going to be walking around in tangerine fringe and acid-washed jeans.  The 80’s have been the laughing stock decade of fashion since 1990 and now we are in love with color blocking and Cavaricci knocks off?  Great.  All this year’s Rip The Runway taught me is I will be hopelessly out of fashion for my vacation. And as Redman once said, “I’ll be that.”

There are several offerings here, from grown people-cut Garanimal inspirations to designs reminiscent of Studio 54 and Grace Jones.  The artists who performed during this year’s show didn’t seem all that influenced by the cutting-edge fashion, instead opting for what we normally see them wearing.  Except Lil Kim who looks more and more like the Jacksons’ version of Cousin It everyday. Seriously, if she lets down that hair, a prince can climb the castle wall.
