I’m all of a sudden feeling the warm and fuzzies.  It’s time for MTV’s Hottest Emcees of 2011 list. I know there’s some pissing and moaning brewing in the bowels of Hip-Hop right now at the thought, but damn I love this event.  It’s as great as the freshman thing that other website does except you get to watch the debate unfold.  Maybe we can get a commercial with Bart Scott sitting on Sway’s lap?  Umm… maybe not.  Either way, I’m psyched.

Why you ask, because its dope.  You get this room of “experts” selecting the most obvious candidates possible,  (I’m sure there is some rule about picking emcee No-one-has-ever-heard-of-him out your ass at the last minute) and then everybody gets mad, even though these are the same obvious candidates the Hip-Hop world has been hyping all year.  Then all of a sudden everyone is an indie warrior and hasn’t turned the fm dial on since 1989.  Or they spend a whole 800 words with a dissertation on the definition of the word “hot.” It’s grrrrrreat.

Just take a look at last year’s list. Aren’t these like the same people who will probably be on this year’s list? If the trailer is any indication; yup. For some strange reason though, that’s going to piss off a lot of people.  So get some popcorn and your blog space ready.  In about a month, it’s going dooooown.
