I’m not going to take any shots at Amber Rose. She is not the first to take this particular road to the pop culture penthouse and she won’t be the last. The significant others of famous folks have been capturing our interest for a long time, why should she be any different or less entitled to the payoff? She shouldn’t and she isn’t.
The new thing however, is that fewer and fewer ladies are being thrust into the spotlight based solely on who their man is because the pool from which these dudes select their arm candy has become hella shallow. I think they are down to about like 4 or 5 that they doe si doe around in a square dance kind of pattern. I’m not sure why it’s suddenly cool to run into someone who has slept with your woman, but guys seem to be setting themselves up for that to happen on a regular basis.
It’s not just Wiz either. Reggie Bush is allegedly in talks with the Kardashian’s to be cast as her next boyfriend and Killer Mike even tweeted that he would totally wife Supahead. Okay, he didn’t say that. He said he would play Sampson to her Delilah. After all this time? And all those wee wees?
Anyway, Amber Rose as one of the chosen few decided to make a record and again, this is nothing new. It’s also not shocking that her little voice needed a ton of studio manipulation. How many pop singers that don’t even have professional girlfriend as their alternate career path can sing? Very few. At least this girl has options.
She obviously was ready for the fame; she has handled being castigated in the media pretty well. I hear this girl’s clock ticking though, so hopefully she’ll be just as ready for it to be over. Unless she starts a 2nd rate clothing line or her mom marries Bruce Jenner. Then she might be around for awhile. Oh yeah, the song. “Fame.” Enjoy.
