One of the real tragedies left in the wake of Keith Elam’s untimely demise two years ago was that we were left with no answers concerning the breakup of the greatest tandem in underground Hip-Hop history. Gangstarr produced classic records during a strong run and then poof, all gone and we didn’t have a clue. To make matters worse, neither side would talk.Well our good friends at Forbez DVD have not forgotten the tale and have produced an interview that will shed some light on the situation. Gusmo, a former manager and Gangstarr friend (…Tommy Hill, the Damaja and my man Gusmo – “Soliloquy of Chaos,” Daily Operation) who has decided after all these years to talk about it. As to what his motives are, I could not testify. As a Gangstarr fan, I personally would like to know what really went down and as a historian, you want to know what sets events in motion.
There are some startling allegations in here that will probably raise eyebrows and prompt responses. If what he supposes is true, then you may think more highly of Guru and Premier for not letting it spill into the streets and overcoming whatever adversities befell them as men. Sorry for being vague but we want you to peep the interview. Shout to my man Doggie Diamondz.
