By Odeisel

The Planet, along with Chicago’s own SquareOne of B-Side Radio, have joined forces to bring you the week in review in Hip-Hop and current events, along with the occasional special guest and some music to keep you moving through your day.

This episode deals with IllSide Radio’s top Hip-Hop albums of 2011. Before we get into that, though, we take a look at Common and his latest release, The Dreamer, The Believer. There were so many things surrounding the release that we had to address it. Common Vs. Maya Angelou? Common vs. Drake? Common vs. his own legacy? We touch on everything in detail. We talked a bit about Young Jeezy’s new album and whether or not it motivates you to listen. Where is he in the game? Does this album move him forward?

Then we get down to business on the albums of the year. We go in depth  on what makes these albums special and how and why they made the list. In no particular order, we discuss:

Pharoahe Monch – W.A.R. (We Are Renegades)
