There’s something about Young Chris that compels me to root for him. Aside from the fact that I think he’s a dope emcee, I feel that the structure of the Hip-Hop music business along with a few othjer factors have conspired todo him in. Most people would just drop the mic and pick up a desk job, but the Philly emcee marches on, slaughtering guest spots and dropping more bars than Fort Knox. The latest tape is The Revival, and it brings Chris back to his roots as a rapper, after his last R&B flavored release L.I.F.E.. That gritty Philly accent is stronger and the rhymes are harder. The guest appearances are decidedly Philly with Beans, Meek, Peedi, Omilio Sparks, and Freeway all on deck for that street heat. Get a taste of the raw and check out this latest release. The Revival is just that; Young Chris getting busy and bringing it back to the home of cheesesteaks, rabid fans and Rocky Balboa. The tape is wholly produced by rising producer Cardiak, who provides some strong, but not amazing tracks to blow this tape higher.
