Okay what happened? Less than a week ago, Fity dropped a track that was so hard it could cut diamonds. This week we get “The Enforcer?” 50 over some tired club production? Glow stick Fifty? This is very upsetting.
I know it’s on the Real Steel Soundtrack and his sound had to be tailored, but I don’t really feel dance music as 50’s lane. Anyway, his shtick on this song doesn’t veer too far from what he normally does. He’s the enforcer and your time is up. He’s the real deal and your heart pumps red kool aid. He’s rich. He drives a Bugatti and sells drugs for fun, I guess. I could have done without this. I hope the movie is better.
Buuuuuut.
In order to save us from going to sleep with “The Enforcer” as the last thing that we heard from him today (and that would have been a tragedy,) 50 rescues us from our frowny faces and drops “Love Hate Love ” aka “Street King #6.” The track is pilfered from Murs’ “Dream Chasers” courtesy of 9th Wonder. It’s great timing too considering how much heat 9th Wonder is taking for his contribution to Charity Starts At Home. The foundation is dope.
50 drops his pedigree and quickly meanders into the lack of pedigree in others. Tight pants and skate boards just ain’t Curtis’ style. Hard bars and hard time, he does it all. He gets all the chicks, including yours. There’s a Detox mention (yeah right) and plenty of warnings about getting too close with nonsense. The bottom line is he doesn’t care what you think. Just mind your manners and coexistence will be peaceful. Maybe.
So there you have it. 50 brought us both the good and the bad today. As long as you listen to “The Enforcer” first, you’ll be fine.
