80’s babies know John Connor, leader of the human resistance movement of a dystopic future where the machines have taken over the world. He was sent back in time to stop a murderous robot from killing himself in the past so that there is no resistance. So goes the plot of the original Terminator film. Jon Connor the rapper hails from gritty city Flint, Michigan, home of the Spartans and a place where many have no future. If it’s cold in the D, than Flint is freezing.
Jon Connor brings futuristic flows and lyrics as relentless as the Terminator itself, and week by week, he adds another brick to his foundation. Still, despite non stop hard work and persistence, he flies beneath the radar, with a skill level that is become much too rare. We caught up with Connor in the South Bronx of all places, shooting a video with fellow rhyme animal Maffew Ragazino Sr. (More on that later in the week). In front of the house that Jeter built, down the road from the birthplace of the house that Herc built, we chopped it up on his passion for rhyming and got to know him. Jon Connor: Terminate on Sight. Enjoy.
