Fresh. Crisp white Air Force 1’s in the summer. Jordans. Gear and clothes that make the block go “Yoo where you get that from?” You know the feeling. The chill you get when you have something that everyone envies. But not the snake you for it envy. The I gotta get that kinda envy colored by a bit of affection and happiness with a dash of jealousy. Busting out with the next year’s model car while everyone else has the late-model. They call it late for a reason. Vado and Jadakiss get you hip to their fresh on “Check It Out.”
The bat is simple boom clap-clap, boom clap, with dense lows wrapped in vocal samples and a repetitive “check em out” refrain.
Vado gives you a bit of the now flavor where guys are rocking Louis Vuitton and all that couture stuff that old timers bought for their girls. No disrespect, just a different kind of thing. He gets back to basics with Jordan 13’s and Nautica and his basic message is to flaunt your own style with no regard to how other people feel. His flow is fluid and his connections are solid.
Jadakiss does his best Jay-Z “Blue Magic” impression, complete with the same flow and similar cadence and ad lib. His plodding measured pace walks you through the fly shit. He doesn’t blow the track away, but he does enough to add spice without sounding repetitive.
Next time you’re stepping out and you’re fresh to death, make sure you hip the homies to “Check Em Out.” Every fly guy needs theme music.
