Now that the “Black and Yellow” can officially be laid to rest, Wiz is back with Chevy Woods shouting out his crew, “Taylor Gang.” It’s not just a clique, it’s a lifestyle and the Wiz/Chevy combo take a moment in the self-titled track to lay down the ground rules for being Taylor.

The third representer in this self big-up is Lex Luger.  He returns with what sounds like a section of merry-go-round music looped with layers of snare, a deep thump, a clap and a random church bell. I’m not quite sure if Luger is developing a signature sound or just resubmitting the same cake over and over again with a different flavor of icing, but he’s becoming a one track pony.

The idea here is pretty simple.  Taylor Gang gets high…a lot.  They have sex with easy girls …a lot.  And nuccas want to be them because they have weed and broads.  Wiz also goes on to say he has plenty of fiscal pull and he works out on a Bow Flex.  I think he just said that because it rhymes with Rolex because Wiz doesn’t look like he could lift a 5 lb. bad of sugar.  He tip-toes around the track with a few different flows including something that sounds reminiscent of Mannie Fresh circa “Get Your Roll On.” The constant Bang! Bang! Bang! is very Waka! Waka! Waka!

Chevy hops on the end and just co-signs what Wiz asserted earlier.  He sounds like he has some issues keeping up with his own double time, maybe that smoke has his lungs blown out.  He doesn’t sound bad necessarily, but it doesn’t help that you’re on the tail end of something so tedious.

Wiz bought himself some room for improvement with “Black and Yellow.” Thank goodness because outside of that cut, much of what he’s released lately hasn’t been all that great. Hopefully, he won’t find himself down the road like his beloved Steelers, wondering what went wrong.
