Post by post, Indiesent Exposure is set to give your ears some respite from some of the daily audio wackness that bombards the masses through mainstream radio’s definitions of Hip-Hop, Rock, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, House, World Music and more.
If you like what you hear & download up in this section, PLEASE support (monetarily and otherwise) these artists as much as you can in the future – hit up their websites, purchase some product, go to their shows, etc.
This week’s Indiesent Exposure selection features some hard hitting Baltimore via North Carolina Hip-Hop sounds.
Whenever you have the chance, please let all of the talented Indiesent Exposure artists and the Planet Ill crew know what you think of the music in our comments section!
Here we go:
Sometimes as a Hip-Hop listener, you just want pure Hip-Hop on a mixtape without all the excess garbage and DJ’s shouting all over the place. North Carolina’s own L.E.G.A.C.Y. (now currently residing in Baltimore, MD) happily provides that for everyone with the Kevin Nottingham Presents: DJ Forge feat. L.E.G.A.C.Y. Pt. 2 mixtape.
From his days with the Justus League collective in the early 2000s to his present solo work, L.E.G.A.C.Y. has consistently shown he’s a beast on the mic able to construct solid lyrics and rhymes along with enough personality to keep heads engaged no matter what style of production he flowed on.
This latest project has 21 tracks of nicely-produced original songs, remixes and exclusives that feature guest appearances by Evidence (of Dilated People), Khrysis, 9th Wonder, Skyzoo and more on the mic + behind the boards.
L.E.G.A.C.Y. Pt. 2 is a mixtape that besides having head-nod ready Boom-Bap from start to finish, also features mixing, scratching, and blending; without all the yelling. DJ Forge of the Jukebox Heroes gets it in proper, making the overall listening experience flow smoothly with his skills on the turntables.
L.E.G.A.C.Y. has been living up to his acronym (Life Ends Gradually and Changes You) with each new release. Leggy Hendrix strikes again by keeping the lyrical standards high and keepign listeners off-balance.
