Indiesent Exposure: Remedy Ross Represents Wu

By DJ Fusion

What’s good Planet Ill crew!

It’s time again for your weekly Indiesent Exposure installment of FREE quality music downloads and info about independent music artists of different genres who deserve serious credit for keeping things lively and original in the world of music.

Indiesent Exposure is set to give your ears some respite from some of the daily audio wacknessthat bombards the masses through the mainstream radio’s definitions of Hip-Hop, Rock, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, House, World Music and more.

If you like what you hear in this section, PLEASE support (monetarily and otherwise) these artists as much as you can in the future – hit up their websites, purchase some product, go to their shows, etc.

This week’s Indiesent Exposure audio selection is a fly mixtape offering straight from the hive off the Wu-Tang Killa Bees family.

Whenever you have the chance, please let all of the talented Indiesent Exposure artists and the Planet Ill crew know what you think of the music in our comments section!

Here we go:
Since appearing in 1998 on the very 1st Wu-Tang Killa Bees: The Swarm compilation with the fantastic song “Never Again” – a moving, intricate track which features equally sad, angry and defiant storytelling about the Holocaust – Staten Island’s Remedy Ross has made an impact on the international Hip-Hop scene.

The New York City MC and producer has held it down as one of the numerous Wu-Tang Clan affiliates worthy of musical respect while establishing his own indie brand with his company Code Red Entertainment.

After cranking out numerous guest appearances, albums and more through the years, Remedy’s latest offering to the masses is the free 21 track mixtape, It All Comes Down To This.

With it’s solid mixture of freestyles, old and new original tracks It All Comes Down To This is a cool primer that highlights Remedy’s skills on the mic as well as his ability to talk about diverse subject matter without seeming like he’s on some “I’m being deep for the moment” fakery.

The project also features a stellar group of guest MCs and producers that keep the project moving along smoothly on a sonic level, including the RZA, Killah Priest, JoJo Pelligrino, R.A. The Rugged Man, Blaq Poet and more.

Fans of the mid-to-late 1990s NYC street Hip-Hop era where driving beats, intricate lyrics, entertaining delivery and inspired sampling reigned, should really enjoy this project.

If It All Comes Down To This is a status marker in Remedy’s career in the indie Hip-Hop circuit and beyond, the mixtape definitely shows a man on the right creative path.
