The preview for Kanye’s “Monster” video dropped a few weeks ago and the unsettling imagery turned off a few, but intrigued many more.  Now the whole thing is floating around, or at least a starter version of it is.  This is obviously a very rough cut, but still worth the watch.

The theme of sacrificing your life for the fame comes through crystal clear as the scenes are littered with those who didn’t make it.  The members of Kanye’s “Monster” crew are survivors, possibly because they have had to put a few lesser mortals down themselves.  The blood suckers are kept at bay outside, but are ever vigilant, looking for access to Kanye’s inner sanctum.

Women hang from the rafters in their underwear swaying gently back and forth while Ross calmly puffs on his Diamond Crown, like smoking in the presence of dead bitches is what’s good.  Jay-z seems unaffected by the carnage but he still stares back at the lifeless corpse in the room with him hoping she stays that way. Kanye stacks up zombie chicks in his bed like human Lego’s and Onika holds her sweet voiced ater-ego hostage as her inner demon takes complete control and ummm…takes to the floor for a little Magic City action.

Kanye is a ballsy artist and he has figured out how to push all kinds of buttons.  He’s rubbed Planet Ill the wrong way a time or two.  However, his fearlessness is something to be admired.  The video is disturbing, but so is the theme if the song, so it’s perfectly suited.  Anyway, enough of my ranting.  Here you go.  Monster.  Rawrrrrrrrrr.
