By DJ Fusion

What’s up to all of the Planet Ill crew!

It’s that time again for your weekly Indiesent Exposure installment of FREE quality music downloads & info about Indie artists of different genres who deserve serious credit for keeping things lively & original in the world of music.
Post by post, Indiesent Exposure is set to give your ears some respite from the daily audio wackness, that bombards the masses through the mainstream radio’s definitions of Hip-Hop, Rock, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, House, World Music and more.
If you like what you hear & download in this section, PLEASE support (monetarily and otherwise) these artists as much as you can in the future – hit up their websites, purchase some product, go to their shows, etc.
In this week’s Indiesent Exposure selection, we have some fly downtempo & Electrotronic based music jams straight from the United Kingdom. Whenever you have the chance, please let all of the talented Indiesent Exposure artists and the Planet Ill crew know what you think of the music in our comments section!

Stuart Warren Hill and Robin Brunson have been making high quality music & video eye candy as the VJ/DJ/Producer/Audio-Visual Art crew Hexstatic since 1997.

After forming up as the indirect spinoff of the 1990s Ninja Tune Records group Hex (originally founded by the longtime DJ/Producer/Remix crew Coldcut & visual artist Robert Pepperell), the group has been one of the numerous trailblazers of the modern day VJ movement, even directly working with Pioneer to create their DVJ-X1 DVD turntables.

Hexstatic’s name is a pretty solid description of the type of awesome creative work the U.K. crew accomplishes with soundscapes and video.

They almost keep it TOO hectic on the audio end by blending dance floor-ready Electro, Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Hip-Hop influenced tracks along with some deeply atmospheric downtempo songs.

The music stays away from seeming too unfocused by having all of their well-crafted productions constantly transition smoothly through different mood shifts and sounds for the listener to absorb and enjoy – whether it occurs multiple times throughout one song or throughout an entire album.

The visceral images in Hexstatic’s extensive videography all have some sort of interesting theme that gets driven home quickly with whatever audio is on deck, leaving the viewer be in awe of the thought process.

Happily, there is no predictable cookie cutter “to the club, to the street, to the bedroom” by the numbers mainstream video channel stimulation from their lab.

Below is a download of the crew’s latest full-length album of original tracks and remixes, Hexstatic Present: Trailer Trax, as well as some videos of their past and present solo & collabo works for everyone to check out as an intro to the Hexstatic style.

If you’re tired of imitation producers of all music genres crowding the music scene to the point where a casual listener can’t tell the difference between the original and the copy and want to see artists who think outside of the box, these grooves are for you.

Download, put on the headphones and shake up your personal playlist….enjoy.
