By DJ Fusion

What’s up to all of the Planet Ill crew!

It’s that time again for your weekly Indiesent Exposure installment of FREE quality music downloads & info about Independent Music artists of different genres who deserve serious credit for keeping things lively & non-cookie cutter status in the world of music.
Post by post, Indiesent Exposure is set to give your ears some temporary respite from some of the daily audio wackness, boredom and/or iCoonery that bombards the masses through the mainstream radio and TV airwaves’ definitions of Hip-Hop, Rock, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, House, World Music and more.
If you like what you hear & download up in this section, PLEASE support (monetarily and otherwise) these artists as much as you can in the future – hit up their websites, purchase some product, go to their shows, etc.
We’re traveling up to America’s West Coast for this week’s Indiesent Exposure mixture of soulful Hip-Hop audio goodness.
Whenever you have the chance, please let all of the talented Indiesent Exposure artists and the Planet Ill crew know what you think of the music in our comments section!

Here we go:

Nepotism sometimes seems terribly rampant in the world at large, especially in the entertainment world.
It makes you question if sometimes the relatives of famous people are truly talented when they step out on their own creative endeavors or are just coasting off of their family’s accomplishments.
In the music arena, this difference can either happily bless the listener with a series of great music via bloodline (Nat King Cole & his daughter Natalie Cole or the descendants of Bob Marley for example) or just make them ready to throw an iPod against the wall at the awful audio shenanigans on deck.
Vallejo, California’s producer/MC Droop-E happily falls into the former group, displaying a lot of high quality skills behind the boards and on the mic with his latest release, the BLVCK Diamond Life EP .
After first entering the national consciousness as part of the Hyphy Hip-Hop movement, the son of indie music mainstay West Coast Hip-Hop MC, businessman and slangologist E-40 has shown time and time again since the age of 15 that he can stand firmly on his own as a talented musician in multiple arenas.
Over 8 tracks Droop-E effortlessly flips samples from modern day R&B music legend Sade‘s 1990s music catalog into smooth, lush mini-revisions that set up a rather mellow listening experience ready made for head nodding or cruising down the freeway.
Passionate and energetic mic work from Droop-E and guest MCs J. Valentine, E-40, Ya Boy, 1st Place & Work Dirty organically help propel the project along, with each MC touching base on everything from hometown pride, the ladies and hunger to succeed & stay successful on the mid-tempo tracks.
A black diamond in nature is thought to be formed either by extremely high pressure under the Earth or have some form of interstellar origin, somehow in it’s formation being more rare and special than the others.
If the 22 year old Droop-E can continue making music of this great quality in the future, his talent and impact in the Hip-Hop world will rightfully live up to the BLVCK Diamond Life standard.
