“You Know What It Is” is the title and yes, you know exactly what it is. It’s a heaping helping of fun house synth, enough snare to make you curse and lots of remedial English style similes. Waka. Flocka. Flame. Nucca.
It’s no secret that this pair aren’t exactly the Rhodes Scholars of Hip Hop but damn.. why is Gucci still mispronouncing words on purpose? Skreet? It makes me wanna holla. Seriously. Gucci. Gucci. Bang. Nucca.
The lyrics on the hook are dragged along like a kid’s extra heavy book bag, I guess to add some Peach State hood panache to the whole affair. Gucci does speed it up on the verses as he weaves a narrative about well.. what he always talks about. You know what it is! He buys cars he doesn’t need. He smokes like a green chimney and your girl will get turned out and then kicked out. Burrrrrrrrr.
Waka on the other hand kicks some bars about being more responsible and giving. His delivery is about as basic as it gets and sometimes it sounds as if the beat is getting the best of him. However, he does mention that even though he has some dough he still drives a Regal and if one of his boys isn’t eating he will give him a job. That’s sweet. He also said he will bang your girl though, but what rapper doesn’t?
Anyway, it’s exactly what you would expect it to be so the title is the most genius thing about this track. I don’t expect evolution from this pair. It will be the same song over and over again until y’all get tired, and that doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon. Gucciiiiii!
