I was recently watching a throwback interview of Orlando Magic Center Dwight Howard circa 2004, right before that year’s NBA draft for which he would be the first player selected. As I gazed at the screen, I observed the then teenage hoops star from Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, walking down the hallway in khaki pants and a way-too-long tie, speaking about his faith in God, and how he would continue that walk into his professional career. I mean, the young man didn’t even listen to secular (hood translation: non-gospel) music. What was so memorable to me about this TV clip, was that I recounted that I had already seen it when it originally aired, and recalled thinking to myself at the time, “Good luck with that brother…”
Fast forward back to a couple weeks ago, as I happened to be doing a little channel surfing, I sat in front of the flat-screen and I came across what appeared to be some sort of pool party, with Ludacris and Terrell Owens chilling on the side. It must be
Bravo Bravo Negro……as usual and precisely on target!!! This show is just nu wave minstrel at it’s worst. The only real chic on the show (as u mentioned) is that Latina who told Eric Williams wife that she’s a fool basically. Not only that….called her what she and that whole CREW what they all about………GOLDDIGGERS!!! I quote ” If I’m a groupie then what does that make you…..Golddiggers??? Pure comedy….but mami kept it real. As opposed to those so called women of virture. Nothing worse than sitting around and listening to women scorned.

Thats why I hate all of these reality shows especially those that features any women of color. From what I have seen Braxton Family Values is the only one which makes me feel good about myself. Back to Basketball Wives – I caught the first episode and that was just embarrasing.
Most of VH1 shows degrades women in general to me as well even their new “Single Ladies” show as well
