Red And Meth Vs. Ruck And Rock

HELTAHSKELTAH

By Odeisel

In This Corner…

While we’ve seen Joe Budden get riled up over their placement, Red and Meth have earned their place in the annals of Hip-Hop.  While Redman has one of the most impressive solo catalogues in Hip-Hop, this partiular excercise is reserved for his collaborations with his brother in rhyme, Wutang representer Method Man.  The two dropped the smash album The Blackout! and sold some records and wrecked mics.

In This Corner…

The first true surprise duo from the Boot Camp Clik.  Ruck and Rock formed Heltah Skeltah and dropped a true banger of an album with Nocturnal  back in 1996. The album had ill production and hardcore Brooklyn Hip-Hop which could stand up to any competition.

Although Red and Meth have more fanfare, each group is legendary in their own right, and the good folks at Planet Ill have had the good fortune to see both groups recently in person, live and in living color. They could teach a clinic to the young rappers from every sector.  Who’s better?  We don’t presume to decide for you.  You be the judge.  We will bless lucky commentors with a pair of tickets to see dead prez at Highline Ballroom on June 21st.  Your World Your Way.  Join the Planet
