Nah the way I understood it is Kabuto trained with some snake sage to get to his sage mode and had surpassed Oroch. I don't think Orochimaru ever reached sage mode he just has always been that way from all the shit his done to himself.

I don't see how It could be possible if Tobi/Madara or whoever he is fought the first Hokage but yet he was a teen when he died saving Kakashi he would have been old as hell then. I believe its someone from there past some elder though i think the "if i removed my mask you wont remember who i am " statement to the absent minded Guy is in reference to Guy forgetting who Kisame was after he had just fought him in the Leaf village.

Yeah, it's definitely some older dude that they both know. As long as it's not some character that's been already introduced in the story. Then I'd feel like an idiot for not figuring it out sooner lol.
