I doubt that Snyder shit will happen but I would be really glad if it did.
I doubt that Snyder shit will happen but I would be really glad if it did.
They don't need to be redundant and put MOS in the way of their holiday juggernaut (the new Hobbit movie). It was a smart strategy spreading stuff across. It also gives ample opportunity to polish it as much as possible though I never heard these "script problem" rumors myself more time left to really think a picture through is NEVER bad.
Since it was Nolan & Goyer's story and screenplay perhaps they (Nolan & Goyer) want to give it a more thorough polish once TDKR is in post. GL as we all know could've SERIOUSLY benefited from a similar move. Then again GL could've benefited from a much more competent writing team though but that's another story. Regardless of what you may think of Nolan & Goyer as writers (I personally don't think much of them) they have been consistent in the eyes of the WB due to the results of their work for the studio as writers (Ie: Inception, the bat movies).
Zack Snyder will NOT be fired.
1) He has a good relationship with the WB execs cause he knows his place around them.
2) He knows how to turn shit in on TIME and on BUDGET. This is VERY VERY VERY important to movie execs.
3) He's got all his ducks in a row and is ready to start shooting very soon & they need him to cause of the rights issue. No need to kill all that progress by firing the guy and hiring someone new.
They will be keeping a leash on him through Nolan even though they trust him enough to continuously throw money at him anyway. I mean despite the fact that his last 3 releases for them were financially underwhelming they keep giving him second chances. Seems to me that they don't mind staying in the Zack Snyder business a little longer.

Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance Updates, Tagline Revealed
Some footage from the movie just screened and we have some brief descriptions, as well as the movie's tagline. By all accounts the footage blew the attendees away!..
As the live blogging for the Sony panel at SDCC continues, we have a few updates regarding Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance.
First Showing have a brief description of the footage screened..
Wow the footage for Ghost Rider was BADASS. He pretty much had a flaming skull head the entire time, even his motorcycle is on fire the entire time, it looks awesome, some incredible shots, I am impressed. It's pretty much Neveldine/Taylor throwing out the first movie and bringing us their Ghost Rider that fans have always wanted to see.
The tagline is :By all accounts the footage was insane, with shots of Ghost Rider vomiting and urinating fire!. And another sees Johnny Blaze and Ghost Rider battling as seperate entities. We will update with more details if and when they are available anyway.Subtle eh? Nicholas Cage also reveals what brought him back to the character.."[frick]ing your shit up in 3D February 2012"
Brian Taylor:"I had more to say. With this one he wanted to embrace the nightmare aspect and hopefully "scare you and entertain you at the same time"
"In the first movie, he was an innocent goofball, in this one he's been living it for a few years, and is a bit more sarcastic, edgy, ironic." In the other movie, he didn't get to play Ghost Rider, and he's been thinking about that including how he would move and so on."Ghost Rider is one of the most badass characters of all, even though there's no logic to him... He's not a superhero, more like a horror character." His power is "he sucks out your soul" and it's totally insane, he says. The horror quality is what drew them to it.![]()

Highlights From The Amazing Spider-Man Panel
The most anticipated panel of the 2011 San Diego is happening right now, so hit the jump for live updates of the current goings on...
Thanks to First Showing, we have the following highlights from the panel which is currently taking place in San Diego. These are just a few select excerpts, so be sure to click on the link below to head on over to the site to read their coverage of the packed out panel in Hall H for yourself.
Finally, The Amazing Spider-Man! Logo hits the screens and the audience already cheers.
Finally, the lights go down, there's a low rumbling... but it's just showing the logo... the crowd starts a slow clap, but nothing happens. Still waiting..."You might want to put your 3D glasses on."
Some weird low rumbling sound coming from the speakers...
Same footage as the teaser, but with a few tiny extra bits of footage, like a digital version of his webshooter... They're mechanical, but look digital.
Some guy comes to the microphone to ask a question wearing a crappy Spider-Man costume and says "I've always wanted to come to Comic-Con as a fan" and then rips off his masks and it's Andrew Garfield - Peter Parker himself!
WATCH THIS
"Peter Parker made me, Andrew, braver. He made me stronger... I wouldn't be able to stand here right now if I didn't know Spider-Man was here with me today."
Avi Arad, Matt Tomach, Marc Webb, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone hit the stage.
Marc:They're going to show us a little footage from the film! Very early, very raw footage, just a few minutes worth, we may see wire-work and greenscreen in it, but they want to show us what the tone is like and so on."There's so many things about Peter Parker that I found interesting... he's one of the most relatable characters in the comics. Spider-Man, he's a part of our culture, here's a perennial character... I felt an incredible sense of enthusiasm for that character that kept me up at night... It was too intoxicating and irresistible to turn away from."
Time to watch the footage...
Peter gets in trouble for humiliating/beating up Flash Gordon, and his Uncle Ben comes in and talks to him in the school. Uncle Ben is the one crackin' some jokes about Emma Stone photos "being on his computer."
Cute moments with Parker trying to get with Gwen, but doesn't know how to talk to her. Acoustic guitar song in the background, definitely a Marc Webb musical choice.
Just saw shot of Parker holding his dad's Oscorp badge.
Looking through a folder at what little he has collected of his biological parents.
Sequences of him being people up on the subway for fun, sequences of him sticking to various things in his home. All the stunt work has been with wires so far, no CGI at all.
Spidey joking around and making light of catching robbers, at first being like"is it a real knife? no, don't hurt me, please!"The footage just got much more intense now that hes being called the "masked vigilante known as Spider-Man.""It was your responsibility to do those things, not choice, responsibility.
"Dr Connors, stop this right now!"Spider-Man footage was FANTASTIC. Looks great, lots of incredible looks, the tone goes from jokey and humorous at first to being very serious and intense. Lots of piratical wire-work, barely any CGI, I am very impressed, this is a different and new Spider-Man."Peter, secrets have a cost..."
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN footage is all over the place, but there are some really great moments in there.
Garfield:"We're approaching this like it's Shakespeare, like a Greek myth, these comic book characters are our modern myths...
We still want to see our favorite characters on the big screen, and in 3D I might add. So for me it's just another chapter in the long history of a comic book story that means so much to so many people."
Stone:LOVED the Spider-Man footage. It feels like they're trying to make it much more realistic and practical, wire-work everywhere barely any CG."I fell in love with the story of Gwen and Peter and I can't play a story without making it my own a little bit, so... I hope it's alright I'm playing her. So she's on the page, and I can of interpreted her my own. We tried to make Gwen/Peter's story new and fresh and we worked it out the best we could."
Webb:Amazing Spider-Man footage looks, well, amazing. Parker storyline sends darker, but there's some lighthearted Spidey cracking wise, too.Music is a big part of my life, and that was a big way to get into the character. Garfield has a Ramones shirt that he wore a lot in the movie.
Spider-Man footage was sick. This is going to be a departure from what came before but I'm won over by what was shown.
Footage of ASM looks so fantastic. It's sincere, naturalistic, looks like a teenager in a suit-- looks like SPIDER-MAN. Dream come true.
There was no villain in the footage we saw, but they're now talking about Dr. Curt Connors. Oh wait, maybe they have footage of this?
Time to put the 3D glasses on again...
Watching Connors talk to students, already has his arm gone from the first moment we see them, talking about how heWatching as his hand is growing directly out from his lizard arm, and his skin is becoming scaley."longs to fix himself."
Two girls in bathroom, something
pulls the toilet down, HUGE Lizard guy walks up, MASSIVE CGI creature WHOA!
Sticks out his tongue and nearly licks the girls face. Side shot of his face looking at the two girls.
Very interesting Lizard reveal montage, looks like a unique villain, but a little too CGI, though this is obviously very early footage.
Rhys Ifans shows up! He plays Dr. Curt Connors.
Audience Q&A has started, Marc Webb talks about how they looked at the Ultimate Spider-Man series to reference body-type for Spider-Man.
First footage (3D) of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans) as 'Spider-Man' Lizard villain. Green, scaly and what a nasty tongue! #sdcc
Any hesitation about signing on?Andrew says. ""I hesitated for a month, I was really scared,"Emma Stone: "I was scared of the crowds and I still am, but I couldn't say no to it ultimately."Question for Webb about this being darker. Webb:If you love what you're doing, you have to put all the fear aside... and it was impossible to say no. As scary as it is, it's worth it."Webb:"Darker is one of those loaded terms... I want the style to be grounded, I wanted you to recognize what you see on screen as our real world, and that goes for physical, aesthetically, emotionally."Rhys Ifans... saying something very odd:"I don't use that term darker, but it's very emotionally complex, it's very rich and we're trying to create that in a very real and authentic way."What?"You never bring a monster to humanity, humanity brings a monster to you..."
Garfield:Garfield didn't speak to Tobey Maguire while shooting, but did speak to him after. He did get a message once he was announced as Spider-Man though and Tobey gave him his blessing."Peter Parker has been the one fictional character that I've feel I've related to... I bought my first Spider-Man costume when I was 2." "I've always felt close to it personally.""It made me feel okay about jumping into it."" Garfield says."I'm one of you, and I want to be out there watching and judging it,"It was incredibly fun, but I also felt the responsibility of it."

Marvel Studios Have Regained Rights To Blade; Clip From Agent Coulson Short Shown!
Joe Quesada has confirmed that the studio have their hands back on Blade, as well as commenting on future MarvelStudios movies and showing off a clip from The Consultant featuring Agent Coulson and Thunderbolt Ross...
Great news! At the "Cup O' Joe" panel in San Diego, Marvel's former Editor-in-Chief revealed that the studio have regained the rights to both The Punisher (which we found out at last years Comic-Con) AND Blade. He also commented on future Marvel Studios movies, and played a brief scene from The Consultant, one of the upcoming Agent Coulson short films. Thanks to Comic Book Resources for the following.
Speaking of things that will have to wait, Quesada said now that Marvel has regained the rights on film to the Punisher and Blade, some kind of movement on bigger media projects with them can be expected but not any time soon. In a related "wait and see" moment, the CCO said that there are more plans for the heroes of Cosmic Marvel.
Asked whether Marvel will add more characters of color to its film slate.Quesada said while Alonso added,"One of the things we have to deal with first are the icons. If we don't do those first, other characters regardless of race or ethnicity, will fail,"On the movie front, Quesada soon showed a film clip that he claimed to have stolen from Marvel Studios. The short clip of Agent Phil Coulson conspiring with a fellow SHIELD agent over how to trick General Thunderbolt Ross into denying a deal they were offering him. The clip ended in static as actor Clark Gregg rushed the stage with several folks dressed as SHIELD agents to mock-arrest Quesada. The actor spoke to his developing role as one he was given initially by his neighbor John Favreau and then with each successive Marvel film his part grew (when offered a "Thor" role, his response was"I dream of the day that there will be a Luke Cage movie.")"By Odin's [frick]ing hammer, yes!"
The actor then said the clip – titled "The Consultant" – is one of two short films that will be included in the "Thor" BluRay to flesh out the background of SHIELD. The second clip will be showing later this weekend at Marvel events.
A woman asked if they'd ever considered making a "Great Lakes Avengers" movie. When told no, she said, "It'd be cute!" to which Quesada responded, "It WOULD be cute...and no one would see it."
SILVESTRI TEASES "THE DARKNESS" ORIGIN STORY MOVIE
Top Cow CEO Marc Silvestri sat down for a brief chat with Comic Book Resources about what's planned for the movie. It's all in the very early stages --Silvestri said with a sly grin -- but there's already a pretty strong idea of where things will hopefully go."We're at the 'no comment' stage,"
Silvestri explained."It's definitely an origin story -- we have to introduce people to who [protagonist Jackie Estacado] is,""The thing is, we have a really cool origin for him and a really well-realized character that people can relate to, even though he's surrounded by this fantastic shit.the creator continued."It's not going to be cheap, and we're going to get A-list people on there,""[It's something] that talent can really attach themselves to and put their mark on. The audience is ready for it. The audience has seen 'The Dark Knight.' So now it's like, how do we turn that up to 11 with 'The Darkness'?"
