Man Of Steel Pushed Back Until 2013; New Release Date Revealed!

In some genuinely unexpected and shocking news, it has been revealed that Warner Bros. have pushed back Zack Snyder's Man of Steel until 2013! You can find out the new release date here...

The following was revealed on Twitter just a few moments ago by the ever reliable source, Variety's Jeff Sneider. Stay tuned for more details as they come through. As I'm sure you'll agree, this is rather surprising news, although surely a good thing if it means the movie ends up having the time to be as good as possible.

BREAKING: WARNER BROS. has moved Zack Snyder's MAN OF STEEL to JUNE 14, 2013!

UPDATE: Thanks to The Playlist, we now have further confirmation of the news.

Something had to give, and right in the middle of Comic-Con no less! Warner Bros. has officially moved the Christopher Nolan-produced, Zack Snyder produced, Superman movie "Man of Steel" from December 2012 to June, 14, 2013. December 2012 is already stacked: Fox’s "Life Of Pi," Quentin Tarantino‘s "Django Unchained," Disney‘s "Lone Ranger" and perhaps more importantly, a competing WB film, Peter Jackson‘s "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey."

Hugh Jackman Confirms The Villain For Wolverine 2

Jackman name dropped the villain for his next outing as Wolverine earlier at SDCC. You may already have a good idea who it is, but if ya don't, spoiler warning..

Hugh Jackman made a surprise appearance this morning at SDCC to promote his new movie Real Steel. But of course fans also wanted to know about the upcoming Wolverine movie which will now be directed by James Mangold after Darren Aronofsky had to leave the project. You can see a vid of Jackman discussing the movie, revealing it's shoot date etc but what isn't on there is the following..

“I’m filming Les Miserables in February, but before that I will be filming Wolverine 2 in October. Chris McQuarrie has written a fantastic script and it should turn out really good. I’ll fight the Silver Samurai in it so that should be exciting. Most of the filming will take place in Japan.”

Sin City Sequel Moving Forward; New Details Revealed!

During the panel at San Diego Comic Con, director Robert Rodriguez has revealed some new details regarding the long-awaited sequel to Sin City. Check it out!
It seems that this is the year when Sin City 2 might actually happen. During the panel at SDCC, Robert Rodriguez shared some new info on the process and working with Frank Miller.

    From Cinema Blend:

"If it's going to happen, it's going to happen this year,"
Rodriguez just told the assembled Comic Con crowd of Sin City 2, which he says is still in the script process but promises he and Miller are as close to making it as they've ever been. He's basing it on three separate stories by Frank Miller, who co-directed the first movie and whose graphic novel inspired the original. One of the stories is called "A Dame to Kill For," another is called "The Long Bad Night," and the third is being kept under wraps for now.

Afro Samurai Live Action Movie In Development

Live action Afro-Samurai movie in the works. An official press release from Indomina Studios reveals that Samuel L. Jackson will be involved with the transition of the manga/anime to the big screen.

Los Angeles, CA – July 21, 2011 – The Indomina Group announced today they are teaming with Samuel L. Jackson and Gonzo Studios to make the live-action Afro Samurai adaptation:

It was announced today that The Indomina Group, the fast-growing U.S. and Dominican Republic based producer and distributor of film, TV and trans-media content, is teaming with Samuel L. Jackson and Gonzo studios to produce a new live action film based on the popular “Afro Samurai” animated series that has spawned an impressive franchise and a global following. The announcement was made by Indomina Group Vice Chairman and CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann who will serve as producer with Samuel L. Jackson and Gonzo Studios’ Shin Ishikawa. Eli Selden of Anonymous Content is executive producing.

Academy Award® nominee Samuel L. Jackson has been close to the franchise for a number of years having voiced Afro Samurai for the 2007 anime TV mini-series “Afro Samurai” and again for the 2009 Emmy® winning animated TV movie “Afro Samurai: Resurrection.”

Said Jackson, “This has been one of my very favorite properties ever since our amazing debut at Comic Con with the original series pilot out of Japan. I can't wait to produce the epic feature film version with our new partners at The Indomina Group."

“When Indomina was launched, ‘Afro Samurai’ was quickly identified as the perfect property for us to option and exploit through our vertical channels targeted to a fanboy audience,” said Singh Mann. We never took our eyes off the property and are very pleased to not only have the opportunity now to make an extraordinary film, but to do it with Samuel L. Jackson, who is just as passionate about ‘Afro Samurai’ as we are. This is a perfect collaboration in the eyes of Indomina. We look forward to going to work with Sam and Gonzo on this and making something discernibly unique.”

Producers plan to attach a writer and director this summer and complete casting by the end of the year. The film will be shot at Pinewood Indomina Studios in the Dominican Republic in 2012.

Indomina optioned the rights to “Afro Samurai” from Japanese rights holder Gonzo and will make “Afro Samurai” the first feature film production from The Indomina Group, which over the last six months has debuted its North American distribution arm (Indomina Releasing), international sales division (Indomina International) and Studio operations and facilities (Pinewood Indomina Studios).

Stacey Smart Stanley is overseeing the project’s development for Indomina while Chris Carlisle will oversee for Gonzo Studios.

REALLY glad to hear Superman is being pushed back.

Hugh Jackman needs to shut the fuck up...

LMAO @ Sin City, I'll believe that shit when I see it.

Judge Dread should go direct to DVD far as I'm concerned.

Afro Samurai could either being a cult classic or the worst shit since The Spirit and Sucker Punch.

Cap costume looks spot on but it looks a bit heavy too.

That Superman news just shows how shook WB is after Green Lantern flopped. The Superman movie was rumored to have some major problems in the screenplay, and this pushing back the release plus the news of rewrites tells me WB has realized now they can't have another comic book movie fucking up.

My thoughts too Bobby, on Sin City 2. Rodriguez says that shit once a year just to keep hopes alive but dude is too preoccupied making shitty kids movies no one wants to watch.

And why do I get the feeling that Zack Snyder will be fired from the Superman movie before it starts filming (or very early in the filming process)?
