despite the fact I consider the first Ghost Rider movie to be the 2nd worst comic book movie I've ever watched (worst being batman & Robin), I'm actually intrigued with the 2nd GR film, I actually think the Crank guys can churn out a great film with this franchise.
The third act in both Nolan Batman movies blew balls though. Definitely dragged the movies down a few notches. BB before "league of shadows microwave da wattah!!!" was damn good and TDK before the stupid ferry boat & Two-Face nonsense near brilliant. I don't think any amount of rewrites will do anything to kill that tradition. Nolan seems to be having problems with 3rd acts in general for a while now. Inception went from bad to worse in it's 3rd act too as I remember.
That GL concept art could work for a reboot. Considering that the movie out now flopped as hard as a Hell Rell album though I don't think it will even be rebooted.
Come to think about it, The Prestige nearly blew it as well in the third act with that cloning water tank shit.
Ghost Rider isn't going to work. The fact that they still have Nic Cage as the lead shows they didn't learn their lesson.i
Surprisingly he's not what I didn't like about it. But with what he was surrounded with it's not a huge compliment. All I can think about, other than the horrible villains, is Ghostrider saying "You're going dowwwn!" wtf
Yeah, Nic Cage wasn't the worst thing about the original film. The only good thing about that film was the cgi at certain points. Nic Cage still being involved shows they don't understand how poor of a casting choice he was to begin with.
It's hard to buy that they want to make the film better when they wont even acknowledge a poor casting choice.
