Christopher Nolan Says No To A JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie

He may be producing a Superman movie for Warner Bros. but the studio's top director says he has no future plans to be involved with a Justice League movie or the Batman reboot.

If you're hoping that director Christopher Nolan will have an active hand in any of Warner Bros. plans for a Justice League movie then I have sad tidings to report. The director stated in an interview over the weekend that he has no plans to be involved in a Justice League project.

    No, none at all,"
    Nolan said. "
We're finished with all we're doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character.
Batman will outlive us all, and our interpretation was ours. Obviously, we consider it definitive and kind of finished. The great thing about Batman is he lives on for future generations to reinterpret, and obviously, Warners will have to decide in the future what they're going to do with him. We've had our say on the character. ...

I've got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any 'Justice League' project."

Sir Anthony Hopkins Joins The Cast Of Darren Aronofsky's NOAH

The director has revealed via his Twitter account that the veteran Thor actor has joined the cast of his adaptation of the biblical tale of Noah's Ark. Click to find out who he will be playing..

It seems Darren Aronofsky knows the that there is one sure-fire way of adding a bit of gravitas to your movie, and that's stick Sir Anthony Hopkins in it..

So Hopkins will play Methuselah, the world's oldest living man who dies at the age of 969, seven days before the beginning of the Great Flood.

NOAH is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood. The screenplay was written by Aronofsky and Ari Handel and revised by Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter John Logan (GLADIATOR, HUGO).

Scott Franklin and Aronofsky of Protozoa Pictures, along with Mary Parent of Disruption Entertainment, will produce the film. The film will be executive produced by Ari Handel (BLACK SWAN), Arnon Milchan of New Regency and Chris Brigham (INCEPTION, ARGO).

Four Actors Join The Cast Of THE WOLVERINE

SHH have received word that four Japanese actors have joined the cast of James Mangold's upcoming follow up to X-Men Origins: Wolverine in supporting roles - Shingen and Mariko among them..

It seems casting has begun on Fox's next Wolverine movie, and according to SHH the following actors will be joining Hugh Jackman in some key roles..

Hiroyuki Sanada ("Lost," Rush Hour 3, The Last Samurai) is set to play Shingen; veteran actor Hal Yamanouchi (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Push, Sinbad of the Seven Seas) plays Yashida; and new discoveries Tao Okamoto and Rila Fuckushima will star as Mariko and Yukio, respectively.

You will notice that the character played by Hal Yamanouchi is listed as "Yashida", but fans of Chris Claremont & Frank Miller's "Japan Saga", on which this movie is based, will know that is the family name of several characters that cross paths with Wolverine throughout the course of the story, Shingen and his daughter Mariko (Logan's love interest) included. So this is either a mistake or they have created a new character - possibly Shingen's father - for the movie, we will update if we can figure it out. Anyway, there is another (illegitimate) member of the Yashida clan - Keniuchio Harada, a mutant who will become The Silver Samurai. No word on his casting yet, but keep an eye out.

The Wolverine is set to hit theaters July 26, 2013 James Mangold directing. Lauren Shuler Donner will produce with Hugh Jackman, John Palermo and Hutch Parker.

I don't know why people expected Nolan to be involved anyway when he hates the concept of something like JL. He's not even all that involved in Superman at all like many want to believe. He's Goyer's consultant at best and that was in early script stages. He helped Snyder get on but that movie is Snyder's show.

Guillermo Del Toro is the only one that could do JL justice (no pun). He's getting in real sweet over at WB too with his co-writing of The Hobbit movies, he's developing a Beauty & The Beast movie for them and that giant robot versus giant monsters movie that is getting great hype. If things go right for him & Pacific Rim connects he'll finally get the big budget fare he always deserved coming his way and really kick the world's ass. I can't see them not make him an offer in that event. They'd be stupid not to.
