I don't even remember him being in Star Trek.![]()
It's understandable since like any other non-Uhura black character in the original star trek series he was easy to miss. I guess that was another form of "accuracy" on the part of that hack Abrams.
LMAO @ him playing Alex Cross. That character is so boring that not even Morgan Freeman in his infinite lameness could carry an Alex Cross movie franchise beyond 2 movies. WTF could Madea do?!?
Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN May Have Already Been Given The Green Light
A reliable source indicates that the word around this year's Cannes Film Festival is that Marvel Studios have finally given Ant-Man the green light! Not a lot of details for now, but read on for details.
News on Ant-Man (from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz writer and director Edgar Wright) was slow for a while, but the success of Marvel's The Avengers and some hints from both Kevin Feige and Edgar Wright himself - find that HERE - reignited interest in the long talked about adaptation. Well, @TwitchFilm has revealed something very interesting indeed, as you can see from the Tweet below.

Rumblings in #Cannes are that @edgarwright's ANT MAN has been greenlit. #rumor

Ant-Man gets the greenlight while Wonder Woman, The Flash and Justice League still linger around in development hell?
DC LOST!
I'm actually surprised it took so long for Ant-Man to get green lit (even now it's still rumors). Wright has been attached to that movie for over five years, lol.
I'm not a Trekkie either though I respect some of the Trek movies & the mythology of that franchise enough and his movie was one of the lesser ones for sure. I definitely won't be seeing the sequel. MI3 put me to bed ten minutes into the thing every time I've tried to see it. I give up. Didn't even bother with the alien movie.
The guy to me is as hacknyed as it gets. He jumps from subplot to subplot without ever fully bringing any real closure to any. The dude's work is full of anticlimaxes.
Paper thin characters with pseudo intellectual yet pop dialogue is the forte he tries to go with. The thing is people like Joss Whedon do that so much better while adding some dimension to some of these paper thin characters in the process which makes them REAL fleshed out characters by the end. Abrams can't do that. He just relies on standard tropes to sell his weak protagonists. The man is terrible at setting up shots & creating memorable set pieces. All his framing is generic as hell and very TV-esque.
Nothing about it makes it pop and his overuse of lens flares is obnoxious. Sorry dude but the guy is as hacky as it gets because his style is paint by numbers as fuck. There is nothing that makes this guy's work distinctive from other generic bullshit out there. He has no unique "voice" nor is he a "visionary" like say a Nolan, Refn, Vaughn or Aranofsky are (some of the REAL filmmakers amongst his contemporaries). His shit always looks like a bad clone of somebody else's superior work.
To each his own and what not but if the man wasn't a jew with the right family members like most other people in hollywood are then he'd still be a film school reject. I'm not drinking that kool aid; fuck JJ Abrams.
