THE BOYS Dropped By Columbia Pictures
The studio has dropped the movie and caused another roadblock for the big screen adaptation of The Boys.
Despite some earlier reports of progress made on The Boys and Adam McKay's involvement, it looks like we may have to wait even longer. The Hollywood reporter has found out that Columbia studios is no longer working on The Boys. The studio was working on writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson's edgy and violent comic book. Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, and even Seth Rogen have worked on the screenplay since the project was first lined up in 2009.
Producers Neal H. Moritz of Original Film and Kickstart's Jason Netter will shop the project around to other studios.
So it's gonna be Skrulls after all? Sheez...
I think The Boys should not be made until the comics are finished so they can look at the whole, cut the bullshit and bring it down to three epic movies. Same as I would do Preacher (let's be honest, Ennis is great but over the course of his 50+ issue series he always has tons of filler before the third act).
I figured it would be some kind of "Ultimate" Skrull race. The name "The Redacted" made me pretty sure that's who it was.
I wonder if they'll look like Thanos if he's in the movie. He supposedly trades an army for the gauntlets minus the gems, right?
More DREDD Leaked Footage Surfaces Online
The source of the leaked footage is Ephraim Mwakandu who has posted his FX Showreel online for all to view. One problem, he included footage of a film that hasn't been released, his loss, our gain.
Well, I'm sure some point soon this will be taken off the web, so enjoy it while it lasts. Now, let's focus on the CGI that he has on display. I actually liked the subtle use of it to enhance each shot, something Lucas sure needs a lesson in.
