New KICK-ASS 2 Plot And Cast Details Emerge!

Minor Spoilers! New details for the upcoming sequel of the much praised movie Kick-Ass have emerged online and you can read who will be reprising their roles and what you can expect from the movie after the jump!

According to MovieHole.net, the Jeff Wadlow-directed sequel has new plot details and casting news before it starts filming.

All of the core cast members that made the original Kick-Ass great are back so you can expect to see Aaron Johnson, Chloe Mortez and Christopher Mintz-Plasse back in action. They also confirm that the studio is in talks for Garrett M. Brown to reprise his role as Dave's father in the film and it is said that this time around he will have much more to do in the Kick-Ass sequel. The studio is also starting auditions for the role of Uncle Ralph -- the criminal guardian of Chris A.K.A Red Mist which is expected to be filled by an actor similar to Mark Strong so keep a look out for casting news on that.

The story will be similar to Superman 2 where someone finds out about the heroes' identities -- mostly Dave and Mindy. Dave's identity as "Kick-Ass" is only revealed to one important person and it is said to have repercussions. Hit-Girl's identity will be known by the general public and it gets her in to the awkward stage of society as it will cause a lot of people to make fun of her behind her back. Her problems cause her to be nicknamed "Captain Muffin-Muncher". However -- the worst of her problems will come from the highest of the anarchy of stuck-up girls -- Brooke who is said the be the usual prissy stuck-up bitch who has a gang of followers that she can control (think Mean Girls?) who also manages to gain control of Lois (who will ultimately form a bond with Mindy). Eventually, Hit-Girl will get revenge against the band of girls in a spectacular fashion that will involve gadgetry, projectile vomiting and a lot of begging. A lot of cheering in the cinema audience is to be expected from these scenes.

More Kick-Ass 2 details are expected to emerge in the next few weeks.

Joe Manganiello Talks Missing Out On MAN OF STEEL; Says BATMAN Reboot Is On His Radar

Click here to see what Joe Manganiello had to say about missing the opportunity to play Superman in Man of Steel, as well as him wanting the role of Batman in when the franchise is rebooted.

Zack Snyder has stated that his two choices for Superman in his upcoming tale Man Of Steel was narrowed down to Henry Cavill and Joe Manganiello. Cavill ultimately won the part with Snyder saying that he had the qualities that he was looking for in his Superman, but did say that Manganiello was great. Manganiello, while talking with Aint it Cool News, says that the reason he is not Superman is because his schedule with True Blood just simply wouldn't allow it. He also said the popular TV show is the reason he was even considered for Man Of Steel.
"Well, I mean, the thing about Superman was it... I mean, I know the right one is out there for me... there wasn’t anything I could do with Superman. There was interest from every single possible angle on that project, and the reason they were interested was because of TRUE BLOOD. From the director, to casting, to the producers involved, it was all because of TRUE BLOOD, that was why I was in the running. And at the end of the day, it was TRUE BLOOD’s schedule that kept me from doing it. There’s just no human way possible I could be in two places at once when I’m contracted to be on TRUE BLOOD,"
he said. Citing that he was excited to explore why a baby from another planet would choose to fight for another race, and being able to dive into Superman being an alone alien only added to his disappointment that he didn't get the chance to play The Big Blue Boy Scout. He also went on to say that he "knows the comic books really well," and he thinks he would have brought a fresh take on the character to the table.

With Christopher Nolan's Batman series ending this July Warner Brothers is looking to reboot the franchise so that The Dark Knight can be apart of their Justice League. Manganiello was asked if anticipated being brought in for the eventual reboot where he said,
"From your mouth to God’s ears, man. I mean of course, I grew up, as a kid, I read comic books, and I watched every single comic book movie that ever... You know, I was a big sci-fi fan, I was just that kid. I’m a fanboy at heart. So, yeah, that is on my radar."
He went on to say that he thinks his back round in classical theater plus his dedication to working out has helped him out tremendously in his career to be able to play a super hero.

Marvel's THE HUMAN FLY Movie In Development

It would seem it's not just DC who are revisiting some of their more obscure characters. Alan Brewer and Steven Goldman have picked up the reverted rights to The Human Fly, a Marvel comic book based on real-life stuntman, Joe Ramacieri..

First we had DC's Metal Men, now it's Marvel's The Human Fly! Deadline report that a movie based on the former Marvel Comic character is in development at Eisenberg-Fisher Productions/Paramount after Alan Brewer and Steven Goldman picked up the reverted rights on the property recently. Apparently Goldman will direct while Brewer, along with James Reach, will produce. Tony Babinski, Cirque Du Soleil’s in-house historian, wrote the Montreal-based screenplay.

STARSHIP TROOPERS Reboot To Be Less Violent According To Producer Toby Jaffe

As you might know, Starship Troopers will get a reboot, and in a recent interview producer Toby Jaffe says that it will be following a less violent path to "reintroduce it in a new way". More deitals after the jump.

Last december, it was revealed that the 1997 Starship Troopers movie would be getting a reboot, with Toby Jaffe (also the producer of the Total Recall reboot) as the producer. Now, in a recent interview with Empire Online, the producer says that the upcoming reboot would be following a less violent direction, stating that nowadays it is harder to make a violent movie when it is too expensive to produce:

"The more expensive a film is, the harder it is now to make it that violent," explains Jaffe, also one of the team behind the Colin Farrell's Total Recall. "With Recall in particular, we made a conscious choice to keep it tonally closer to something like Minority Report. It gives the studio, and us as producers, the opportunity to reintroduce it in a new way."

"Verhoeven made his movie a critique of fascism," says Jaffe, "whereas Heinlein was writing from the perspective of someone who had served in World War II. Y'know, one man's fascism is another man's patriotism..."
"Working in a visual-efects renaissance as we are, we have the ability to do so much more now. We can do the Jump Suits [armoured exoskeletons from Heinlein's novel], for example, which I don't think they could have done before."

Romeo Miller Says He Was Approached For BLACK PANTHER & Is Interested

While promoting his new movie Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection, Romeo Miller (previously Lil' Romeo) is asked if he has any interest in filling the role of T'Challa.

Since Latino-Review came out with the claim that Marvel Studios' 2014 mystery film is in fact Black Panther, several actors have been asked and expressed interest in playing the superhero. Next on our list is Romeo Miller, the rapper/actor who is best known by his previous stage name, Lil' Romeo is asked by BlackFilm.com if he wants to be the King of Wakanda.

With Marvel possibly doing a film on the Black Panther, is that a role you can see yourself doing?

    RM:
I would love to. I remember that before Jumping the Broom got released, there were some producers were talking about shopping the script to some people and I was one of the people they contacted and was asked if it was something I would be interested in. You never know. I definitely want to take in and be the next big action hero. That may be something that’s cool.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Is Marvel's Mystery 2014 Movie; THE AVENGERS 2 Set For 2015?

A very reliable source reveals that Marvel's mystery 2014 movie is Guardians of the Galaxy! But that's not all. With an official announcement expected at this year's Comic-Con, the site has also revealed some very interesting details as to what we should expect to see (including Thanos). Read on for details.

Latino Review, the same site that revealed that Thanos would be in The Avengers and that Marvel are currently hard at work on a big screen adaptation of Black Panther (which they originally believed to the studios 2014 film), have revealed that we should expect to see Guardians of the Galaxy on the big screen in 2014 alongside Captain America 2. This follows on from the recent news that Marvel had begun registering trademarks for various products featuring the characters. Apparently, the story will see the team visiting Earth during the 20th or 21st century with the use of time travel. Why? Well, in order to meet with the Avengers and take on some aliens apparently! An official announcement is expected at next month's San Diego Comic-Con and they also go on to reveal that not only is the script "incredible", but it will "lead up to" The Avengers 2 in 2015 and that Thanos WILL be in the movie. They also believe we should expect to see Nova, while the after-credits scene featuring Thanos was apparently build-up to both this and The Avengers sequel. More details can be found at the site by clicking the link below.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Coming May 16th, 2014; More Details On Plot And Screenwriter
Following earlier reports that the Guardians of the Galaxy are heading to the big screen, Variety now confirm that the movie will be released on May 16th, 2014 and reveal that the film already has a screenwriter.

Earlier today, Latino Review revealed that Guardians of the GalaxyVariety has now confirmed this rumour (adding further credibility to the initial claims) and says that the studio are indeed planning to release it on May 16, 2014. They mention that their reason for travelling back in time from the 31st Century is to, "help to battle the Badoon, an evil alien race that attempts to conquer Earth's solar system." However, it is not made clear whether or not this is the exact direction in which the film will go. Apparently, Marvel are very happy with the script written by Nicole Perlman, a relative unknown who came out of Disney's screenwriting program. Their sources also tell them that the studio has prioritized this over Black Panther, although they're also said to be working on Ant-Man, Dr. Strange and The Inhumans.
