Hereafter. Some great scenes and moments sprinkled across a movie that's just a bit tedious. Damon performed well, the French actress was excellent and Bryce Dallas Howard glows. Like, literally glows because she got natural screen presence. Unfortunately the British twins were terrible, but I guess that can be owed to Eastwood's casting style. Just like he refused to cast non-Hmong actors as the Hmong-people in Gran Torino, thereby severely limiting the actors he could work with, he here probably refused to let a kid play a double role but sought out actual twins. The result is a lot of weak acting that completely drags down one third of the movie, and its "eh" subject matter (the afterlife? nice if you choose to believe in it but let's not pretend it's real) makes sure the other two parts never quite 'pop' either.
