Midnight in Paris. Not surprisingly since I saw the name that was attached - the main character is a guy that looks down on himself. He also looks down on the present. At midnight he goes to the 20s and hangs out with all the expatriate writers like Hemingway and Fitzgerald. Rachel McAdams was completely unattractive in this movie which I guess is a compliment to her talent. Not a bad movie. I especially liked this this dillhole that Rachel's character liked was a pseudointellectul that looked just like my exgirlfriend's pseudointellectual boyfriend and Owen Wilson gives him shit any chance he can.

The best part about that movie is Ernest Hemingway.

@ Hemingway essentially being a sophisticated Jack Roller.

The Raid - Kids and Doom could have their hungry games (not even worth bolding). I will never in my life bother with that sort of generic made for 12 year olds garbage. Especially when you could find the sheer awesome that is The Raid on a screen at the same multiplex.

This is a movie for people who have complained that most modern action movies start with a bang and end with a whimper. The sense of escalation which was the nature of the classics of the genre is back with a fucking vengeance as it always is every time a foreign action flick comes around.

This movie goes from "awesome" to "holy shit" and "good god almighty" and never lets up. It's also very smart in the structuring of it's sequences. I won't get into spoiler territory just yet; I won't explain why this movie kicked my ass so hard that I saw it twice in one week not until you guys have seen this bad boy then I'll elaborate like a muthafucka. All I will say is as soon as it's playing at a movie house around you RUN TO SEE THAT SHIT!!!

lol I thought he would be fun to hang out with. And seriously, my favorite short story is The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber. The way he wrote the small things in that shitty relationship - whoa. We've shared the same experiences for sure.

You think that if I had a choice, I wouldn't have picked The Raid any time of the day over that P.O.S.? lol

I need to see the Raid. Unfortunately, there is no chance that will play at my cinema so I'm gonna have to wait till the DVD.

^ Well it still hasn't opened in many states yet so maybe you'd get it at least at your local indie house soon. It's times like this that I'm thankful for being a major city resident. All I'll tell you and Jack is that the building in this movie makes the carter look like disneyland. Also the choreography when the rookie gets to the 7th floor is so goddamn insane that it made my contacts pop out of my eyes. That's probably my favorite action setpiece so far this year without question.
