The "Court Of Owls" arc was flames. Snyder took the Bat down just to build him back up even better which is something i didn't think could be done well these days. To me, it was WAYYYYYY better than what Morrison did with "R.I.P."

Now Nu-Superman needs a good storyline bc 2 different books that feature him ain't cutting it.

This isn't true but it is a damn good story though. I love how she's just going to go for the throne of Zeus now without a fucking care. Hera be damned. I can't agree at all on the Batman stuff but hey different strokes and all that jazz. I like Action quite a lot myself BTW. Just how it does so much to fall back on the spectacle (although there is lots of spectacle) and concentrates more on exploring the emotional core of a younger Kal-El is ingenius to me. Superman has been a mixed bag though.

Oh and Jack Roller if you're reading this Chiang came back for this issue and it was freaking worth the wait. Not much action but the minute the action showed up it was radical in that dynamic way that only Cliff Chiang could pencil.

I would have never thought he'd be the guy for the title but he's made me forget all other Wonder Woman artists besides Bolland. He just belongs on the book. There's no other way I can think to say it.

Morrison is leaving Bat Inc AND Action Comics.

The 'Action Comics' run concludes with issue #16, 'Batman Incorporated' wraps up my take with issue #12, and after that I don’t have any plans for monthly superhero books for a while. 'Multiversity' is eight issues and I’m 30-odd pages into a Wonder Woman project but those are finite stories.

    Wonder Woman?

Shame to see him leave Action Comics so soon but it has been longer known Batman Inc. would be twelve issues and the last part of his Bat-epic.

Also it was always stated that he was going to be on Action till issue 16 since before last September. It's funny to me how the Wonder Woman thing is news to some too when he's been saying that since 2009. I guess he gave up on The Flash Earth One thing he was considering though. Doesn't matter I just want his WW story and Multiversity ASAP.

On the downside Inc #3 was delayed because according to Chris Burnham it had sensitive scenes that may seem tasteless in light of that jackass that lit up that colorado theater. So instead of reading the awesome that would be that issue tomorrow we have to wait til August 22. Thanks psychopath.

I wonder if they're just regularly delaying it or actually changing some of the content.

The last pages of Batman: The Dark Knight might be the funniest shit I've read in comics in a while. Unfortunately it wasn't trying to be, I think. I have a weak spot for Hurwitz but I was completely baffled by the conclusion of this issue, which features such a rushed and non-sensical string of events I can only hope this is due to editorial fuckery.

No it's already been pressed and everything but everybody in the bat office had to fall back when they saw something that hit too close to home. I remember Morrison was going to make the abandoned movie theater in crime alley the headquarters of Leviathan. The place where Bruces parents where killed outside of and where he took solace in during his trip in RIP.

This is why Morrison rocks. Just this morning I was looking up through my long boxes and pulled some bat books from the early 00's and came across Brian K. Vaughan's Matches Malone from Batman #588 - 590 as seen in this pic

Anyhow in this story the real Matches gets filled with bullet holes by.....you guessed it; The Ventriloquist during the post-crisis interpretation of his demise. Not only did this issue of Inc have an explicit reference to that incident. It also pays direct homage to the first issue of that arc (#588); which also had Dick Grayson as Batman intimidating Bruce Wayne as Matches in front of the criminal public.

In another nice touch he brings Matches back during his Al Ghul story which brings things full circle with pre-crisis stuff too as Matches first appeared as Bruce's alias back in 1972 when Ra's Al Ghul was first popping into the scene and making shit real for the cape crusader.

I know you guys are probably like "there goes Broddie being the Batman nerd that he is again" but I can't help but really enjoy these kind of easter eggs. I mean I don't know if you guys noticed but most modern Batman writers (like 98% of them, no hyperbole) don't like to reference continuity outside of their own. Unless they're referencing Miller or Loeb

It just goes to show you how much love Morrison really has for the mythos. We all knew this of course. Yet it's always great to see it reinforced when he still chooses to acknowledge not only everything even in light of all this "new continuity" nonsense; but stuff that your average Batman fan today may not even be familiar with. Since it's not a staple like Year One or The Dark Knight Returns that gets parroted as essential by even the most casual Batman fan.

When it's all said and done Inc is bittersweet cause even though it's exciting to see the epic conclusion to what we've been reading for almost a decade you know it's also going to be extremely hard to top this run.

I don't know but I may take another hiatus like I did after Hush and Broken City and before Face the Face and leave the bat books alone for a while after he's gone. At least depending on their current state at that moment cause this run is only rivaled by Alan Grant's, early Bill Finger and Steve Englehart's work in the 70's when it comes to talking about the GOAT Batman run.
