And Morrison did it in 20 pages too. As much as I love Hickman, there exists no other writer who gives so much bang for your buck as Morrison does.

i think it wouldve been just as symbolic to promote alan scott to the media as what he really was, as the reluctant but accepting father of a gay superhero, like before new 52, but i suppose the time wasnt right back then.
I think this decision was made because Obsidian wouldn't have been introduced in the New DC for years anyway (of course now he definitely won't with Alan swinging the other way).

So Mr Freeze has a new origin which essentially cuts out the tragedy of the character and adds more insanity. I'm not too fond of it since it makes Freeze yet another gimmick-using psychopath like almost every other Batman villain.
Scott Snyder continues to unimpress me more than he impresses me with his new Batman work. That new Freeze origin is caca.
